Le Fate Milano Couture is the haute couture service dedicated to the bride who desires a unique gown, designed and custom-made in our Milan Atelier.
We do not start from an existing dress, but from the woman who will wear it: from her physique, her style, her idea of elegance, and the way she wishes to feel on her wedding day.
Every Couture creation is an exclusive project, built through proportions, volumes, fabrics, and details chosen to give shape to a one-of-a-kind gown.

Consultation with the designer
The journey begins with a one-to-one meeting in our Milan Atelier.
It is a moment of listening and exploration in which to talk about the wedding, the desired style, your inspirations and what you would like to express through the dress.
The Designer studies the bride’s physique and proportions and identifies the lines best suited to enhance her, building together with her the identity of the future dress.

Design and sketch
From ideas, the project is born.
The Designer develops the wedding dress sketch, defining its silhouette, volumes, construction and details.
The drawing becomes the starting point of a creation that will keep evolving throughout the tailoring process, until the desired result is achieved.

Research and choice of fabrics
Fabric is an integral part of the Couture project.
Silks, duchesse, mikado, taffeta, organzas, chiffon, tulle and lace are selected according to the structure, movement and effect you want to achieve.
Textures, sheer effects and materials can be combined and studied to create a personal composition.
Because in Couture, the material also helps tell the story of the dress.

Made-to-measure pattern making
The pattern is built starting from the bride’s measurements and proportions.
It is not simply a matter of adapting an existing size: tailoring pattern making is developed on the client’s body, allowing precise work on fit, balance and proportions.

Making the toile
Before cutting the final fabrics we make a tailored toile, a first technical version of the dress.
During this phase the design takes shape on the body and can be perfected by adjusting volumes, lengths, necklines and proportions.
It is one of the most important moments of the true bespoke process.

Fittings and tailoring adjustments
Through the fittings in the Atelier, the dress is gradually perfected.
Our tailoring workshop works on the construction and fit until balance and harmony are achieved between the design and the bride’s physique.
Every fitting is part of the creative process.

Choosing a bespoke wedding dress means experiencing a journey profoundly different from choosing a collection model.
The project is born through dialogue with our Designer and Bridal Stylist, who interprets the bride’s wishes, aesthetic references and characteristics, turning them into a personal proposal.
The silhouette is studied on the real proportions of the body, as are the neckline, waist, bodice construction, skirt volume and movement, back and train length.
Every element can be designed and customised so that the dress is not simply beautiful, but perfectly consistent with the woman who wears it.

The services of our couture atelier
The Le Fate Milano Couture service may include exclusive dress design, consultation with the Designer and Bridal Stylist, study of silhouette and proportions, personalised sketch, research and selection of fabrics, individual pattern making, making of the toile, fittings and tailoring adjustments, construction of bodices and internal structures, customisation of necklines, sleeves, backs, skirts and trains, appliqués and handwork, creation of couture details, coordinated veils and accessories, final fittings and tailoring assistance until delivery.
Each project is defined individually according to the complexity of the creation and the bride’s needs.

Cutting and making the dress
Once the design is defined, the chosen fabrics are cut and the making of the final dress begins.
The work follows the principles of Italian tailoring, with particular attention to internal construction, proportions and the quality of the finishing.
When the design requires it, internal structures, boning and corsetry are studied to support and enhance the silhouette without altering the elegance of the dress.

Couture details and handwork
It is in the details that a dress truly becomes personal.
Lace appliqués, embroidery, draping, pleats, three-dimensional flowers, covered buttons, sheer effects and handwork can be developed specially for the project.
Each element is added only when it contributes to the overall harmony of the creation.

Custom veils and accessories
The project can continue beyond the dress.
Veil, cape, bolero, sleeves, overskirt, bows and other elements can be designed to match, using the same fabrics or details as the Couture creation.
The result is a complete and harmonious bridal look, conceived as a whole.

Final fitting and delivery
The final fitting is dedicated to checking the fit and every detail of the dress.
Only when proportions, lengths and details are perfect is the creation ready to be delivered to the bride.
