Once again this year, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, one of the most important events in the industry, was instrumental in the trends that clearly outline what the 2024 bridal looks will be.<\/p>\n
We enjoyed all the fashion shows, and we have to say that it is always exciting to find out that, in addition to the trends, there is always some novelty “out of the chorus.” We are of the philosophy that as much as there are guidelines in fashion that are interpreted year by year by various designers, this is not necessarily the only way.<\/p>\n
Personality also means pursuing one’s own creativity, regardless of any industry input. And why not, sometimes going against the grain.<\/p>\n
We focused on the 6 strongest trends for the 2024 bridal look:<\/p>\n
LIGHTWEIGHT FABRICS AND TRANSPARENCIES
\nLightweight, billowing yarns have been a must-have on this year’s runways. Lots of bright satin used for smooth gowns, but also layers of chiffon and impalpable organza.<\/p>\n
Transparent plays are created by layers of very light fabric overlapping lace or embroidery. Expression of sensuality and femininity, where The body is glimpsed.<\/p>\n
Marco Y Maria’s fashion show perfectly represented this trend, also playing with overlays of soft colors.<\/p>\n
BRIGHT FABRICS AND JEWELED DRESSES
\nWe saw this trend start in 2023 and now continue in the 2024 collections.<\/p>\n
Shimmering fabrics all over that give off glitter with every movement. Or precious stones and embroidery on skirts, bodices, cuffs and sleeves.<\/p>\n
Also worth mentioning are feathers that have returned to being a very glam detail.<\/p>\n
SLIP DRESSES
\nDresses are slipped or fitted to the body to enhance the silhouette. Yes also to slip dresses or petticoat dresses. The effect is one of ethereal sophistication, of unostentatious elegance like the Cortana bridal line, representative of these models, made of pure silk<\/p>\n
So this year, definitely less volume.<\/p>\n
CAPES AND CLOAKS
\nAbsolute stars of the Barcelona catwalks were long sheer capes and light stoles barely supported and left free to move in the wind. Or sleeves built up to give the cape effect, and again real long embroidered tulle jackets that replace or overlap the tail of the dress itself.<\/p>\n
HALTER NECKLINE
\nThe halter neckline, or American neckline, is another of the elements that many famous brands have proposed (or, repurposed). This type of neckline enhances the shoulder area by leaving them uncovered and is destined to become a big future trend for both embroidered bodices and in more minimal, plain dresses.<\/p>\n
PUFF SLEEVES
\nMany brands, among which Sophie et Voil\u00e0 stands out, are proposing lots of puffed, balloon or otherwise important sleeves this year that create plays of volume and transparency.<\/p>\n
These are what we have considered as the six major wedding fashion trends of the moment but other significant trends have not escaped us. We have seen many MINI DRESS (or Party dress), which are increasingly popular among brides who want a change of dress for the party or choose it for a civil wedding. On the catwalks also many proposals of DUAL DRESS or convertible dress, for those who don’t want to commit themselves to a real change.<\/p>\n
Yes also for the TWO-PIECE with crop top.<\/p>\n
Lastly, many brands offer SUITS with a peek-a-boo effect or a jacket-trouser suit combined with a super-feminine accessory.<\/p>\n

As far as accessories are concerned, for the 2024 bridal look there is space for large hair clips to be worn sideways, headbands and turbans in tulle instead of a veil.<\/p>\n
